However, I have to take issue with your jumping to the conclusion that he "obviously" thinks he's the next Crosby. While I'm certain that he's confident in his skills, that doesn't necessarily mean that he thinks he's entitled to star treatment. There's been speculation about his supposed contract demands. Turris apparently quietly asked to be traded in the offseason through the internal channels of the organization and it is suspected that GM Don Maloney leaked the $3-4 million figure to have the media aid in his campaign to up the pressure. Whether or not Turris' agent actually asked for that has not been confirmed but it is widely believed that he will end up taking less money when he finally does sign. You have to think that he and his agent know this. In fact, they've said it's not about the money.
In playing devil's advocate, the question remains is why does Turris--a previously thought of "good kid"--and so many of his recent former teammates want out of Phoenix? I don't believe it's just because the Coyotes organization is going bankrupt at that location. What concerns me is that he supposedly doesn't get along with Dave Tippett, whom the majority of us want to eventually coach our team.
