Cammi, and a pick.
When do the flashbacks end?
Just wanted to repost this so all of you that are all over Cammy's jock can re-read and educate yourselves. Yes, he has been excellent, but if it was not for Halak, Cammy and the Habs would've been booking tee times after round 1.
If Quick had played the way Halak has and vice versa, we'd still be watching Kings hockey and there wouldn't be any Cammy threads. When you have a collection of young talent such as the Kings had, sacrifices must be made. You can't sign everyone. Based on the information at hand, I still think it was the right move. Good for Cammy that he has stepped up in the playoffs. I'm happy for the guy. But in all likelihood, Cammy would have tested the free agent waters and not stuck around anyway.
Prince George: You know, Blackadder, for me socks are like sex. Lots of it about and I never seem to get any.
So basically any Canadian born player wanting to play IN Canada - trade him to a Canadian team right? So All of the American NHL teams should only draft American born players and Canada can have their guys.
Right?
Who the hell wouldn't want to play IN Canada where the fans really get into it? Yeah they live it and breathe it up there. Hell there are threads here complaining that we don't get enough press because of the Lakers, the Dodgers, El Nino etc. They all come in higher on the importance ranking scale than the Kings. No one here cares about hockey.
So when you get a guy like Cammy, who's exciting to watch and busts his butt to score a goal BUT he wants to get paid money to do that - we cut him.
And the excuse everyone gives is that he didn't want to be here.
You all throw 'facts' out like:
He didn't want to play here
He wanted to play in Canada
He wanted a certain kind of contract
Were you there with him and Lombardi or are you his agent? I remember Lombardi saying during an interview after the trade that he tried to get in touch with Cammys agent and the guy never called him back. He had a deal and the agent never called. We can all sit here and speculate on that one too.
Lets see, Cammy didn't want to play here so he told his agent NOT to call Dean back. Yeah, thats probably what happened.
Whatever. You're good with the trade right? I'm pretty happy watching him light up every goaltender he meets in the playoffs right now.
I'm NOT happy about the fact that he's not wearing a Kings sweater while doing it.
The guy scores goals. Plain and simple and when he was scoring those goals in LA people here were complaining about HOW he scored those goals. He was on his knee. The same old on the knee shot from Cammy. Blah Blah Blah. Who cares. He put the puck in the net.
I can say the same things about Frolov. Same old wrap around that he never scores on. He doesn't seem to want to play here either. Doesn't show any passion. Oh sure, every once in a while he has a good game and shows his potential.
I just think its funny that you all couldn't wait to get rid of him yet he's become a hot topic around here. Can't stop talking about him.
Even if the Kings were still in this, there would still be Cammy threads. The guy has 12 goals. He's done his part to keep the Habs in it. Not trying to take the spotlight away from Halak because he's had games where he stood on his head but he's not the only one showing up every game.

Lombardi's biggest mistake with Cammalleri was that he waited too long to trade him.
I really don't care what the GLFG does in the playoffs. He wasn't a good fit for this team and he really didn't want to stay.
Hockey's original bad boy. The "Cowboy" Howie Young
``I wasn't trading a 20-goal scorer. I was a little surprised I didn't get a little more action on him, but I think the reason was that he's a one-year asset, to any team we were talking to. They didn't want to inherit the same problem I was having. Now Calgary's got that issue right now. It's like a double-edged sword. I don't think it's any secret where he really wants to go, so what do I want that problem for?''
