Thread: Lombardi vs. Cammy

Why did Lombardi trade Cammalleri? Was he really a Cancer in the locker room? Did he really want to much money? Here we are nearly 2 seasons later & that Cancer is leading his 8th place team & the entire NHL in post season scoring & Lombardi is still left looking for a true sniper that will cost much more than Cammy. Yes, Lombardi got Teubert out of the trade, but he is looking more & more like just an average d-man. If Lombardi had drafted Myers with the pick, then things may be a little different, but the Kings would still need a sniper that they already had!

When people ask me if I'm happy with the job Lombardi has done, I always answer, "I don't know". Yes, he has improved the team, but how much better could the Kings be without so many bone head moves? Crawford? Cloutier? Cammy? Priessing? McCauley? to name a few.

1. In my opinion, Cammalleri wasn't worth the money he wanted at the time. If I recall correctly, he was ready to walk anyway.

2. No GMs perfect, so citing bonehead moves to take away from the overall improvement of the team is, in my opinion, bone headed.

3. Mistakes notwithstanding, those moves were made with a purpose, and he's always made moves with the intent of trying to rebuild. Cammalleri didn't fit in the long term plans.
