how are the isles doing with moulson? oh yeah on the outside looking in. theres more to the game than scoring goals.

Islanders are currently 7th in the Eastern Conference. Moulson has 10 goals and was #1 star of the night on NHL.com.
I admit that I was among the vast majority who wrote him off when he was with the Kings. It's good to see Matt and his team doing well. Moulson is definitely showing he can produce given top 6 minutes on a nightly basis in the NHL.
we can all agree this...
...is much better than this...

It's the same in every sport, <Player A> goes away because he couldn't make it happen for <Team A>, and somehow finds that secret talent everyone knew he had with <Team B>. Fans bemoan <Team A> letting player go for nothing.
Meh. Agree with everyone else....get over it.

Matt Moulson got a callup back in the crawford days and in 3 games had something like a goal and two assists... so did Brian Boyle.
If he is a 60 point player I will have some regrets but I see Parse as a better longterm investment than Moulson, Teddy Purcell would be an epic scorer on a team that wasn't dump and grind. He doesn't have the physical presence to make it on our team.
Nice article today on NHL.com

Jason Blake scored 40 goals with the Islanders. Like Lombardi said, it's one thing to be a good player on a bad team, it's quite another to be a good player on a good team. I know the Isles are doing decent right now but they are far from a good team yet.
I distinctly remember a 10-game stint or so
when he was played frequently on the 1st line with Kopi.
That would have been
in the 1st 6-weeks or so of last season,
when the team was under an imperative from
the new coach to stick to good DEFENSIVE POSITIONING.
Moulson didn't do so well at that time,
scoring-wise.
I wonder what's different now.
Maybe just more freedom under a
more offensive-minded system?
FREEDOM!
