    I don't know why Dallas did this trade.

    Ryader was 2nd on the team in scoring.

    Cole is a couple years older and had 6 points on the season.

    Yeah, a 3rd rounder.

    Reason Dallas gave so much, supposedly, for Cole is that Cole has two years left on his contract whereas Ryder will be a free agent at the end of his current contract.

    Still, Cole is near the end of his career, and has expressed his displeasure with the new CBA, giving the impression he could hang 'em up at any time.

    How many times has a decent scoring Ryder been traded/given up on?
    This guy must be a serious prick to warrant this.
    Then again, I never heard any bad stuff about Teddy Donuts. . .

    I don't get this. Cole is supposed to be a better all-around player, but damn Dallas is getting older instead of acquiring prospects to help Benn and Eriksson in the future.

    I don't think Cole has been the same since he broke his neck. Before then, he was an absolute beast.
    at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
