Don't leave out the Elder Statesman in all this crap.
Chris Berman all by himself is a steaming dog-pile, add him to rest of the ESPN lameness and the network is just about unwatchable 24/7.

It's like anything else, when you become the top of the food chain you no longer have competition to drive you. They have let faces like Dan Patrick go to be replaced by crapmerchants like Colin Cowhead, jayzus, it's one thing to ignore hockey, it's another entirely to crap over it at every opportunity. Steven A Smith...Cold Pizza...so many many things wrong. It shouldn't surprise anyone really. Too much success is it's own punishment. The NHL should ban any player access. But Bettman is soft so that won't happen. Hopefully NBC SPORTS NETWORK will be the new model with Hockey as it's centerpiece.
I barely watched it and haven't since NHL2nite ended...

I realize that ESPN stands for Every Second Promoting Network. Which means they overinflate the importance of any sport they broadcast & ignore what they don't. That's no excuse for this. Maybe they're not going to recognize every obscure player but when Hall of Famers, current or recently retired enforcers, and A WHOLE FREAKING TEAM dies, they should be mentioned.

Well, it took a **** ton of people writing to them, but ESPN will be revising their segments when they are re-run on 12/29 and 1/2
"This is for you, Kings players who have EVER worn the Kings uniform, and Kings fans wherever you may be, all the frustration and disappointment of the past is GONE! The 45 year drought is over! The Los Angeles Kings are INDEED, the Kings of the National Hockey League, the 2012 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!" - Bob Miller
"The long wait is over, after 45 years, the Kings can wear their crown! The Los Angeles Kings have won the Stanley Cup!!!" - Nick Nickson
It's official: ESPN can eat a bag of dicks.
