Necessary changes to officiating.
I just saw the Rangers win a game, in which they won by a goal they scored on a power play they DID NOT deserve.
Remember the Clowe incident?
I think the NHL officiating has gotten so bad that it's time for action.
If it's ok to call Toronto to see if there's a distinct kicking motion, then why is it not ok to check goalie interference, etc.???
I propose a system similar to what the NFL instituted.
Coaches Challenge.
If a coach believes a call should be reversed, he can throw a flag. A coach can throw as many challenge flags as they want, but if the call is held up upon review, they are called for a delay of game penalty, and they have to kill a minor penalty. This will eliminate unnecessary challenges.
One penalty can make or break a season, and in this day and age, why shouldn't we utilize technology in order to clean up this absolutely horrendous officiating.
What do you think?
