Fearless predictions:
Bobby Ryan becomes a Flyer - JVR becomes a Duck
Rick Nash becomes a Ranger - MDZ, Dubinsky and Erixon becomes BJ's
Flyers trade a 2013 1st round pick and other assets to acquire Carolina's 1st pick, use it to take a defenseman they think can play this year.
Getzlaf becomes a Leaf - Schenn, Kadri, #5 overall pick to Ducks plus another asset (conditional pick if Leafs make playoffs?)
also, I think the Flyers acquire Bouwmeester assuming one of the two above scenarios does not pan out for them. I think they make two moves at the draft.
not bad... seems pretty plausible. although, i highly doubt Anaheim would deal BOTH Ryan and Getzlaf.

I hear you. Just wonder if they decide to blow it up to accelerate rebuild rather than continuing the hybrid path they have followed since Cup run. The team is losing its identity quickly. Its hard for me to imagine Philly leaving the draft without Bouwmeester or Ryan. They have a need for someone to eat up minutes. I think Philly wants to move JVR for more of sure thing, recognizing he still has upside. Ryan would be more of a sure thing. Ryan being in play handcuffs Howson to some extent, but perhaps not fatally.
The most likely player to move at the draft has gotta be JBow, in my opinion.
These are decent predictions but I think IF Ryan is moved, the main piece will be a young top 6 C in return (Maybe Schenn or Couturier from Philly). They desperately need another center and a stay home D.
I have Nash going to the Rags as well. I just think they have more pieces to give up that are attractive to Howson than anyone else. Philly needs to replace Pronger so I don't see the purpose of Nash going there and SJ won't part with Couture.
The only way Getz gets traded is if this gets them a better return than Ryan. Only one of these guys gets traded IMO. You got to assume if Getz is gone then they my as well trade Perry too because there's no way he's staying after this coming season. There's a chance that Anaheim blows it up and hires the Rebuilding Bear.
if i'm Columbus, there's NO WAY i'm budging from Kreider being included in a deal for Nash.
Howson is more likely to wait until after the draft if Ryan is moved. But if Ryan is still available and JVR hasn't moved then I think it becomes harder for him to stand pat.
Historically its been Philly that pushes over the first domino on trades around draft time so I am curious to see when Holmgren makes his first move. Lebrun just confirmed they want Bobby Ryan and said Anaheim wants Brayden Schenn. Lebrun thinks that is a non-starter for Ryan and that JVR is the piece being dangled.
Based on this info I take back what I said about Getzlaf. Anaheim looking to bolster center depth by moving Ryan.

Ges beats me to the Staal news. So Carolina and New York Rangers now both have another top forward to bid on, further damaging Howson's chances. While a center, rather than a winger, Staal is a piece that will demand attention from teams in market for scoring, He also has a friendly contract and is a pure rental. Only complication with him is ability to resign with a lockout looming. Gotta think a sign and trade, or permission to negotiate a deal is involved here...
I just read that too. Wow!... I think it's time that Staal moved on to another team with a bigger role but can't blame Pit for trying to keep the best center trio in the NHL together. I hope Anaheim doesn't get him.
As for an org like Mon filing arb for it's franchise keeper? Lol! I hope this keeps getting worse for them...
