Thread: NHL to experiment with new rule changes

With the exception of the one lineseman dropping the pucks, and just having draws at the five dots, all of those rules suck.

Can you get more subjective than the bearhug? No changes after a whistle? That garbage doesn't do anything positive.

One change that I would like to see: On an icing call, players with broken sticks cannot retrieve a new one from the bench. You break it, you wait until you can change.

This isn't baseball... the games aren't stretching on too long....

but if you REALLY REALLY have to cut down on length of a game how about getting rid of a few of those obnoxious TV time outs????

Those are ****ing interminable and actually impact the momentum of the games!

Im with you....I dont like any of them with the except of refs with headsets and the only reason I like that is so we can get the audio feed when discussing penalties and what not. What hockey fan worth his weight in ovaltine complains about games being too long? Id add an extra period each game to see more hockey if I had my druthers.

I agree....however, if the goalie is now considered 'fair game' once again, it'll add interest when they choose to field the puck. ANYTHING could happen then.
