The Joe doesn't hold 23k, they added in the Winter Classic numbers. Shocking to me that the Fakers still sell out despite having a bad team.

(Note: Without the Winter Classic, the Red Wings are averaging 20,066 fans per game. If you don't count the outdoor game, the Blackhawks are leading the attendance charts. Expect the Blackhawks to get a healthy bump when they play their game at Soldier Field on March 1.)

FYI I don't think the 18,118 cap includes the suites

The NHL was beating the NBA in attendance in '94 before the lockout, but the lockout ****ed that up.

Now if only they could improve the TV experience while getting a little more scoring, create and promote some stars other than Crosby & Ovechkin, & give the players nicknames, the NHL could jump well ahead of boringball.

I don't think it'll ever jump well ahead. Hockey just can't ever provide the instant gratification for kids that sports like Basketball and even Soccer do.

I believe the 18,118 includes the amount of seating facing the arena in suites (does not include couches and chairs facing a tv within suite). But some suites allow more people than seats, so I believe that feeds into the SRO number.

Something else that I think could help?

More of the raw, uncensored, behind-the-scenes stuff 24/7-type stuff along with some well produced super-slo-mo video with a John Facenda-type narrator, maybe like a weekly wrap-up of NHL games, played on NBC before or after their game of the week.

The stuff the NFL used to do, that was the ****!

I still cannot believe Ray Donovan narrates 24/7. Doesn't sound ANYTHING like Liev. At all
