Surprised to hear that he's considering staying on in a managerial capacity with the wings. I don't doubt he'd be good at it but I thought there were rumors that he wanted to go back overseas with his family.

Nothing but MASSIVE respect to Lids, his resume more than speaks for itself.
BUT, I am curious:
Why, the the day after the start of the Cup Final games, did he feel the need to announce his retirement?
Would it really have hurt in any way at all to keep his decision to himself until after the Cup was decided (and the subsequent celebration) to announce his retirement?
No hate at all. But, the timing just seems odd to me...
I'm pretty sure it was more of he decided and he wanted to get it out there before he second guessed himself. This isn't nearly the same as A-rod using the WS to get a new contract at all.
Cross posting, but what the hell. A great shot for the occasion.

Sucks that he is retiring, but he is gonna coach or be an analyst somewhere. Will not be the last we see of the perfect human.
