Nilsson and O’Sullivan, because they are under 26, can be bought out for a third of their salary as opposed as the two-third teams pay for players over 26.

So here's the only question worth asking on O'Sullivan-Vandermeer: What is EDM getting from PHX for taking on extra $730K in buyout expense?

Unless the Oilers aren't buying out Vandermeer and plan on playing him. He makes $2.3M, but if you factor out cost of O'Sullivan, affordable
