Parise signed

1 year deal

@NHLDevils: Devils have reached an agreement with Zach Parise on a one-year deal, continuing to work toward long-term contract.

Don't sign anything else Zach. The Kings will have room for you next year.

He will be a UFA at the end of the contract. That could make the next trade deadline interesting.

If Uncle Lou hasn't signed him by then it will. I am sure signing Parise to an extension will be Lou's top priority during the season.

I hope NJ sucks again coming out of the box.

Ugh...can I enter into one damned season with no frigging worries. Damn it!!!!! So now...do we trade him at the deadline or let him walk away for nothing. Jayzus.

I think arbitration may have ended up hurting the devils since it effectively shortened the amount of time to negotiate before next season.

Jesus Christ please stop with the "he's coming to LA" talk. All this is for is so they can hammer out a long-term deal. He's signing a one year deal because, as gescom pointed out with a fancy no-look back pat, it doesn't screw him in the next CBA. He'll get a a deal in before this one goes by by and, in theory, he can get a better/longer/more expensive contract before he's forced to roll back 10% in two years.
