I'm ever so pleased to hear so many lgk'rs speak up like this. Like they've never gotten drunk and made asses of selves. How impressive. Well, I'd hate to be in the public eye like these guys are. Done a lot of things in my life I'm not proud of and will admit it.

I have fxxx all sympathy for this guy. Were he just some young hockey player getting drunk and passing out etc then I doubt he would have to put up with some media outlet following him on a night out. This moron painted a target on his back when he assaulted a cab driver whilst shouting "Do you know who I am?" over what turned out to be 20 cents. If it is true that he had his hands around some ladies neck then it will be the second time he has done this whilst drunk, and I am sorry to say once is horrendous enough. Have I made an ass of myself whilst drunk? Yes. Have I assaulted anybody before? No.

If you want to feel sympathy for this guy then fine, but please don't lump us all in with this jerk, because I certainly am not suggesting every hockey player behaves like Patrick Kane whilst drunk.

This. If you try to ease what this guy did by saying "We all did bad things while drunk", then you probably did something similar and should be ashamed of yourself, too. I was OFTEN drunk in high school with my mates, did a lot of stupid things (at least stupid for my measure) while at it, but never assaulted anyone and tried my best not to act like a jerk. I also didn't act like I "own" teh ladies. Drunk behavior is, contrary to some people's (incidentally, they are mostly those, who behave the worst) belief, very tightly connected to someone's character and tendencies. It doesn't take much effort to notice. Severe DUIs are usually caused by people that just don't care (especially for those around them), people, that think they drive just fine when drunk (which screams over-confidence), people that like to show off...these last folks are usually the ones that, during severe DUI, drive the "rally" way, not just the "drunk" way. And the same goes for badass people that are eager to fight and look for trouble, destroy things...those are (at least around here) mostly the (putting it lightly) less inteligent sort of people, that are hard to deal/live with even when not drunk.

If anyone found this offensive, well, then that's your problem.

I haven't had alcohol at all since March 3, 1998 just because I chose not to drink.

I did drink my share of German beer during my 3 years in the army and then I drank during part of my college years. I was a goofy drunk but did I once get into a fight while drunk----No. Did I ever do anything stupid towards a female while I was drunk?----No.

PK is just an a$$ and doesn't need alcohol to prove that to me.

ok guys, I'm a grandmother and have seen a hell of a lot of things in life and one thing I've learned....it's stupid to judge other people. as their lives are their own damned business and believing everything you read by the press is pure assinine. Why jump onto a subject that you actually know nil about yourself. Kane and his family are the ones who have to deal with it. Not any hockey fans. If as the press said, he tried to chock some bimbo, maybe not all the facts are being printed about that either.
Maybe Kane is suffering his own demons that nothing is known about. I just really hate to see people all gather together to judge someone that they don't know and are just going by some news mongers searching for sensationalism.

Normally your posts are spot on Taz, but I am sorry to say this is way off. There are loads of players both younger and older than Kane who go out and get drunk and some how don't make the news and there is a reason for that.

Kane earns millions from playing this game and hundred of thousands more doing endorsements and adverts for large companies and with that he has to accept some responsibility for his behaviour both as a role model to youngsters and as a civilised human. If he wants anonymity it is easy to achieve, it just does not come with the millions he is getting right now.
