I don't think Quick will get as much even though I believe Quick to be the better goalie. I'm guessing around 5-6 million cap hit on a 6-7 year contract.
If we signed Parise as an FA, we will probably have $28 million of the cap tied up between 4 players.
Next season the Kings will have 15.8 million in cap room to replace Penner, Stoll, Mitchell, Parse, Hunter, Moreau, and Fraser. Pencil in Loktionov and that brings it down to 15 million. Pencil in Voynov and that brings it to 14.2. I don't see them paying 7+ million to Parise. I don't see them paying anything to him quite frankly. Quick comes off the book the year after that and the Kings SHOULD have plenty of room to sign him if they replace guys leaving with similar contracts. In addition, I'd figure that they'll try and get this deal done sooner rather than later considering he's going to be a UFA and not a RFA.Quote:

I thought the current thinking was that you can get a goalie on the cheap? Oh wait thats right Timmy Thomas's contract is now paying off again so we can spend money on goalies (Bryz, Rinne). Damnation!
