according to Dreger, Robin Regehr HAS decided to wave his NMC to go to the Sabres... no word yet on the return, but apparently Kotalik is involved as well

Sabres fans are freaking out after hearing Ennis' name involved.

And what in blue blazes would anyone want with Kotalik? That is a LOT of salary for a walking coat hanger.

McKenzie just tweeted that it's Paul Byron, Chris Butler and a 2nd for Regehr and Kotalik.

Richards doesn't want to play in a city where hockey and he would be in the spotlight and Calgary is that so, Calgary may want Richards but I don't think Richards is gonna want Calgary.

Sabres are my east team. And THIS is a steal. Butler is a decent young Dman, and Paul Byron will be good in a couple years....but Regehr is a monster defender and someone they absolutely need. Myers, Regher, Gragnani, Weber, Leopold....not household names but names that get the job done.

and Kotalik DID have his best offensive seasons BY FAR in Buffalo under Lindy.

AND it so happens that Calgary had to give the 2nd up for Buffalo to take Kotalik and his $3 million salary.

Flames fans are in disbelief that they gave up a great defender in Regehr, and a 2nd rounder, just to get rid of Kotalik. All for a "potential" top-4 D-man and a future 3rd or 4th liner.

They're gonna have to move A LOT more salary if they want a shot at Richards. 10 players on their roster have NTC.

If they find a way to move both Langkow and Jokinen's combined salary of 7.5M, then they'll have plenty of cap space to make a play for Richards.

As a Kings fan, we should all be glad Feaster moved Regehr to Buffalo instead of San Jose.
