Can't find a link yet, but the announcement was just made, the Pens will host the next Draft. Gee, Prudential Center has been around a few years now, and the Devils sure could use the NHL's attention to help validate Newark and give the team a little more security, yet this IS the league that apparently only has a few teams(see the Winter Classic). Listen to the Penguin...errrrr Bettman Hour on Xm for more details. Hey Gary, I dunno, maybe you try to promote the other 20 some odd teams who are all in need of some League love. And people still defend this turd in a cheap suit.

Eh, I don't care much. They could have all the drafts they want. I just hope the NHL remembers there are other teams that could participate in the WC that are even more west than Detroit and Chicago.

Winter Classic In Danger Of Becoming Insignificant.

Eventually, however, the NHL will have to include more American-based clubs from the Western Conference and the Sun Belt, as well as Canadian clubs, in the Winter Classic.

Otherwise, hockey fans will get weary of seeing the same handful of teams squaring off every New Year’s Day, the novelty of outdoor play will wear off, and the NHL will start losing more viewers to the college bowl games.

It would be a shame to see The Winter Classic, which has become an anticipated date on the NHL calendar, becoming as insignificant as the All-Star Game.
