Agree. But it's not a rebuild, more of a retool. You sacrifice just one season to do what would normally take 2-3 seasons, it's a smart play. Y'know what DT should have done in 2004.

With the trade for Whitney,I think S. Niedermayer is gone at or before the deadline and Pronger will be traded if the Ducks lose 2 of their next 3 games without getting a point. The Pens in my opinion got the better of the trade.

I disagree with McKenzie rarely but on this one I totally disagree. The Ducks deal a very good forward and a top forward prospect for a defenseman. This has to be the front end of another deal with Pronger. They are going to get one or two roster forwards and a very good prospect for Pronger.

I thought that was Staal's job?

Was surprised to see this. Thought that Kunitz was a core member with that team. Given that Pronger is the only d of the top 4 signed beyond next year (Neids and Beachemin) it makes sense.

Perry is going to have to stick up for himself a little more now.
