Carter will be had for prospects and picks - no way they can afford Bryzgalov without moving a signficant contract.

Toronto seems in need of a #1 Center.
A Kulemin for Carter deal could work well for both sides.
Toronto can justify dealing Kulemin with the emergence of MacArthur and 12.5M cap dollars already devoted to wingers: Kessel, Lupul and Armstrong. Plus Kadri will undoubtedly be placed in the top 6, next season.
This news makes me very happy Kings will face lolbarbara for the next couple of years
Two thoughts about this:
1) SOOOOOOOOOOO glad (as others have already stated) that Bryzgaolov is out of the division and the conference.
2) If Pronger can get healthy, LOOK OUT for Philly next year. Goaltending was their one weak link. Now, I don't see how they can't be considered the Cup favorite next year.
What in the wide world of sports are the Phoenix Coyotes thinking? They can't seriously be thinking about LaBarbera as their number one goalie, can they?
Maybe, they will try to get Nabokov, lol!
You can almost certainly forget about Phoenix being a playoff threat next year unless they plan on making a run at a guy like Kipper...in which case they would be having to trade big prospects like Turris and/or Boedker. Calgary needs to start thinking rebuild and soon.
also, this will mean that Philly will def have to unload some contracts.
I know everyone automatically points to Carter...
but i would say Hartnell, Zherdev, Llieno, Boynton, and Odie coming off the books (I think Hartnell gets dealt way before Carter) would more then pay for Bryz.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
