Are you telling me you think the Devils-Canes is going to be more entertaining then the Ducks/Sharks?
I think you're just falling victim to some stereotypes, such as Devils = boring, Carolina = SE division = suckdom.

Will it be more entertaining? Who knows, maybe not, maybe yes. Don't forget that they also have recent playoff history, and those type of match-ups tend to produce good entertaining hockey.

Another fun fact: This is the only series that features a 40-goal scorer on both teams.

You can never go wrong with a good fun fact! We should make a rule that one of every 10 posts must contain at least one.

I'm definitely interested to watch the Sharks/Ducks series. Isn't this the first time two CA teams have faced each other in the playoffs? The key for SJ is gonna be exploiting the Ducks PK. The Ducks still take many stupid penalties and making them pay for them will make this series much quicker to finish. But they have to survive Anaheim's physical play and no doubt Pronger's boarderline cheap shots. If Pronger gets a suspension, watch for useless, two faced, nut bag Colin Campbell to slap him on the wrist yet again. Can Nabokov handle Perry, Getzlaf, Selanne, and Ryan? Then again, can Hiller/Giguere handle Thornton, Marleau, and Boyle? I'm saying Sharks in 6.

Rangers/Caps: I hate NY and wish nothing but ill for the Rags. Caps in 5.

I'll be watching a lot of Bruins/Habs and rooting for the B's. I expect Boston to romp but I'll be watching to see the fireworks!

Flames/Hawks: I'm rooting for Chicago but this could be a bloody battle. Wouldn't be surprised to see this go 7 games.

Wings/Jackets: I'm rooting for the BJ's but expect the Wings to win. The thing I'll be watching is to see if Osgood lights it up after having a bad season.

Nucks/Blues: How can you not root for the underdog? Plus some Vancouver fans are just as bad as Leaf fans as evidenced by earlier links to their lair. However, I'd expect the Canucks to win in 5, maybe 6.

Devils/Canes: A story of contrasts. Jersey is backing in to the playoffs and Carolina is hot. This could go 7 or only 5. It all depends on how much Brodeur can handle. If he regains his form then NJ is unstoppable. If he struggles then Carolina could take this one.

Pens/Flyers: This is actually the series I may miss the most of since I don't like either team. I used to root for Pitts but Malkin's head hunting and Crosby's whining have gotten to me and I find myself rooting against them. Don't even get me started on the Flyers. I don't know how this series will end up.

I enjoy seeing the star players get worked up. Im no real fan of either team but just a guy feeling that says its going to be a barn burner.

Im with you on the Jackets-how can anyone not pull for them? Seems like yesterday the Sharks upset the Wings with Igor Larionov potting the series winner if Memory serves. Could it happen again?

On that same note....Ducks are the biggest underdogs as the Sharks are -220 on the line.

The 3 series I'll be watching the most is San Jose/Ducks with the Sharks taking it in 6,Detroit/Columbus and I think the B.Jackets will pull the upset and win it in 6. The other one is Philly and Pitts.,with the series going to 7 and Philly winning. The N.J./Canes series will go to the Devils in 6. Van./Blues will be interesting, but AM had a good run and it will be Van. in 5. Hawks/Flames will be a war and I pick Calgary in 6.

i'm so excited about sharks/ducks. like, almost too excited. it's going to be awesome.
(i still haven't decided if i'd rather see the ducks lose just due to my knee-jerk kings loyalty or the sharks lose just because it would be entertaining.)

i'm also looking forward to detroit/columbus. and nj/canes.

...but i'll end up watching as many games as i can.

If I had to pick one that I think will end up being the most entertaining, I'm having a tough time picking between Philadelphia-Pittsburgh and NYR-Washington. The first one should go without explanation, and the second one features our favorite guy Avery, and for pure entertainment purposes it would be fascinating to watch what he'll be trying to throw at the likes of Semin, Backstrom and Green. And if he tries to get to Ovechkin, oh my.

The end of the Flyers game was interesting. Back in the day we might have seen a line brawl but this is Bettmans NHL.

As predicted, and even though its game 1-The Devs/Canes was unremarkable. Devils Outshot the canes and there were only 6 minor penalties in the whole game-none of them for roughing or cross checking.
