I don't think anybody was saying the series is more compelling that SJ/ANA or PHI/PIT, but it's not as awful as you were alluding to in the original post. If anything, those were my thoughts about Vancouver/St. Louis, which was still a fun game to watch.Quote:

I'm willing to call a spade a spade, last year's Devils were pretty boring to watch. This year's group is better though, Sutter needed a year to really implement the system he wanted. Last year he tried to open it up, but we didn't have the right mix of players. Aside from Parise, Patrik Elias is another guy who is pretty skilled. Pretty much put the same numbers as Zetterberg this year as well. Travis Zajac improved by leaps and bounds this year. 62 points, +33, vastly better faceoff skills, and he won't turn 24 until next month. Better year than a sexier name like Chris Drury.
Like I said, I can understand why folks wouldn't watch this series over some of the other ones. But I think a lot of that has to do with reputations, ie Devils are boring to watch, Carolina doesn't have anybody worth watching, neither team has good regular season attendance, etc etc.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but, in the past hasn't there been an official thread for each individual playoff series? :sign_beer:
Heya, Hipsta!
Hope you weren't skipping game 4 of the Carolina-NJ series, up to the last second!
;)
both carolina wins have been entertaining. this has been one of the more evenly balanced match-ups.
Im sure it was a great game but only 1 penalty in the 3rd? The Hawks/Flames had 2 minors before the puck was dropped and a major between periods.
