The Ducks did not give up on Lupul, they just received an elite defensemen in Pronger. I know it is obvious but you have to give up a good player to receive a good player. The Ducks got their cup and now are somewhat rebuilding if you can call it that. The Ducks will be good for a long time now. That is a shame for the Kings.

The Ducks thought that Pronger was that good and he proved to be the missing piece in winning the cup for the Ducks. Who knows?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who think Anaheim got the better end of this deal. No doubt Philly gets a stud d man, but for only one year, and they give up 2 roster players AND two first rounders!? Wow.

They could justify 1st & 3rd with another 1st as conditional but if they don't win the cup and pronger walks after one year, Philly just loaded a 6th round in the chamber.
