Unbelievable.. Thornton vanishes AGAIN. Mike O'Connell was wise to dump Thornton when he had the chance. I wonder what O'Connell is up to nowadays.![]()

Yeah, I hate to just label him a homer and leave it at that, but he is beyond absurd. If you listen to him, the Sharks never commit a penalty and a skating by the crease is goaltender interference. Every other team dives to get calls because the Sharks don't do anything wrong. I can't believe how many times I've heard him say good goals should be disallowed. Even the PBP guy will show a replay and point out that the Sharks indeed deserved a penalty and Drew will still insist the call was questionable.
I think the part that's unbelievable to me is that they still managed to slip into their prior MO with improved personnel and a different coach.
BTW... I don't put Thornton and Marleau in the same sinking ship. I'd love to have Marleau on my team.
Thornton doesn't have that killer instinct. He's not willing to get his nose dirty to win. Some players have it, some don't. It's so rare to see a superstar player just completely implode when the postseason arrives, but he does it every season in spectacular fashion. Maybe he'll snap out of it at some point, but considering how long it has been and how many chances he has had... yeesh.

Daryl Reaugh FTW when it comes to color guys. He provides insight beyond what you can see with your own eyes, which is pretty much the definition of a top-notch color man. He's the reason to watch the VAN/STL Versus feed. Remenda is very good as well but homerism gets the best of him. Foxy can be boring but not many color guys explain the game better. Hayward's whining negates anything positive he brings to the table.
Strader/Pang are probably the best overall tandem in the west. Not too homerish and excellent at describing the action. Cuthbert/McGuire (provided McGuire is calling a game he has no bias toward) on TSN are very good on TSN national broadcasts.
As far as radio - Tim Saunders in Philly literally paints a picture on radio. I've yet to hear any other NHL radio PBP man that can speak so quickly and yet so clearly describe the action.
Tonight's tandem of the night award goes to Foley/Olczyk, primarily for Foley. He was and is outstanding. The Hawks are lucky to have him.

Sharks got hosed when the ducks ended up the 8th seed, you know they would rather play StL or Columbus.
I hate to say it but the quackers have been playing pretty good last month or so and have a lot of playoff experience.
Hopefully this series goes a brutal 7 games and the winner makes a quick exit next round
