Ducks had a few good rookies too. The Blackhawks have the youngest team in the NHL and they are doing ok at this time. Maybe I expect more.

    Well, let's see...

The Kings are still miles away from being near the Ducks, as much as I hate to say it.

They have a blueline with Pronger (strong as hell, willing to get dirty whenever, wherever) and Neidermayer (probably the most solid and fastest d-man next to Lidstrom).

They have Bobby Ryan (who is the real deal) as well as Perry and Getzlaf (who are damn good in their own right).

They have a top notch goalie coach who has made average/good goalies into great ones while with the team (Giguere, Bryzgalov, Hiller).

They have solid role players who were willing and able to go into the corners and battle.

They got Beauchemin back from long term injury.

They went up against the chokers of the WC in the 1st round.

As much as I hate to say it, the Ducks were just a better hockey team than the Kings. Figure that the past season and a half was them underachieving, not sucking. These playoffs prove they are still a powerful team. However, depending what goes on with the Neidermayers, Pronger, Giguere, and Selanne, the team could be pretty different next season.

Ducks have Bobby Ryan. Other rookies? Maybe Hiller? The hawks might be the youngest team, but how many years have Kane and Toewes played together? 2+? All I'm saying is when you play
    Simmonds
    Quick
    Moller
    Purcell
    Ersberg
    Doughty
    Drewiskie
Johnson(Ok, not technically a rookie, but one of our "senior" D-men)

    Add to that
    Harrold
    Quincy
    Greene
    Boyle(Worthless so far)
    and O'Donnel

And that makes... let me see... 13 players who have 1 year or less experience as a team. I believe that is more than 50% of the players who are dressed for any given game with little to no time playing together.

AND add to all that a new coach and a system the rest of the players haven't played? The deck was stacked against us last year and we didn't fold till late in the season. If you actually expected much better... well... you were sorely disappointed.

Ryan has got a lot of work to do before anyone can call him the "real" anything.

Maybe, but i'd already call him more "real" than Captain Brown aka Houdini disappearing act.

Don't get me wrong, I don't get to see Tzlaff at all, so this is not a disapproval. But this board loves to do Tzlaff>>>>^12455236>>>>Kopitar comparisons...

    like the masterful 1 goal / 2 assist / minus 4 ultra-realism against Detroit?

the guy had one, ONE good playoff game... game 4 against San Jose.

he is... and with all respect to Kubrick, that play was Pronger's mistake going away.

If you're telling me you wouldn't like to see him wearing a Kings jersey then I'd be quite surprised.
