He really had no intention of re-signing Frolov. He had all freakin' season to do so but choose not to.

He tried to upgrade with Kovalchuk and went down swinging. YES Kovy would've been a major upgrade talent wise, maybe not contract/value wise but that's just an opinion. I'm sure everyone has a different one.

After the Kovy situation unfolded, they took another look around and decided to make an inquiry, but at that point Frolov felt "wronged", so he left.

DL signs Poni. Some say a lateral move others think Fro is better. I'm sure you'll find at least a few who think DL upgraded.

I'm a big Frolov fan, I wore a Frolov jersey for the last few seasons. That said, don't marry yourself to players!

yeah we came crawling back to Frolov, and the oft accused heartless enigma with no pride responded with a very composed, confident and emotional spit in our faces.

What can DL say?

He didn't want to be here.

I'll miss Fro, but am at the same time happy as he deserved better than the way he was treated by the organization the past two seasons. All the same though, picking NY to bounce back with? Not the best decision.

Frolov-Prospal-Gaborik will be an excellent line. I hope Frolov enjoys huge success from this opportunity for career rebirth.

really?

there was personal issues at work here, and in the end HE turned THEM down.

Now that I've had a moment to compose myself regarding Fro, my last comment, I hope he has great success in New York and never goes to Detroit where I've had nightmares of us seeing him 4 times a year as he becomes a hall of famer in their system.
