If there are then Sean Avery made them that way, he had the potential to be one of the most effective players in the league and instead all he will be remembered for will be his controversies both on and off the ice.

Love Avery as a player, as a trash talker myself I know how much it takes and how much fun it is to irritate the other team enough to get them off their game. Yes, he is a little bootie hole but hell, can't argue with his play.

Anyway, I'll just leave this here and pretend to work.

I just remember the stories of how Avery treated Brown when he first broke into the league and it is **** like that that pisses me off about him.

I got tired of his shtick when he got kicked off of the Kings. Then, to see him sign a big contract in Dallas and wash out there and now with the Rangers, his days as an NHLer are over. He's too over the top and too much of a distraction considering the kind of numbers he puts up. Good riddance Sean... Lots of the people you poked fun at will have far better NHL careers than you.

I still wear my WWAD tee shirt and I still rock the Kings Avery jersey from time to time. I was actually in Calgary when he made the comments about cuthbert for a kings flames game. I had intended to wear the Avery jersey that night but kingsfanryan ( aka the duck hunter) leant me a gleason jersey. That probably saved my life.

I liked Avery, I thought he had great potential when he was with the Kings and I thought he got a bum rap while he was here. What has he really ever done to deserve such hate? He called a nice Canadian girl "sloppy seconds" and it was like he committed capital murder. It was such a non-incident that when I told my mom about it she literally laughed out loud. This is the game that still allows guys like Matt Cooke to play, even after he has ended careers and seasons of multiple players. Ever since the sloppy seconds incedent he's had a target on his back. The Dallas "anger manangement" situation was a joke and when he finally landed with the Rangers I was glad he was back in a big city and able to play hockey again. Maybe Torts didn't think he warrented a spot on the team but he's still a good 3rd line player. On the lighter side, I wish he would sign with the Ducks, just so Heywards head would explode, now that guy is a disgrace to the game.

Except for the fact that he played 75 games over the course of two seasons before he GOT to the Kings. And then the OTHER fact that Brown only played 31 games the first year he and Avery played together on the Kings. Add to that the fact that this was actually years before anything like that happened like that in the locker room...

h[/URL].. and then you have this (Which should be stickied)

Hampered by ankle injuries, he played in only 31 games for the Kings in 2003-04, getting one goal and four assists. Some of his teammates were angered when Sean Avery, being Sean Avery, teased Brown about his lisp, which now is rarely present or noticeable. It was a big-brother syndrome, and even as Avery is serving his six-game suspension for ridiculous comments, Brown semi-defends Avery, saying he never considered the teasing to be malevolent."That's just Aves," Brown said. "When Aves was here, he was hard on me, but at least in the stuff that deals with me, people have made it out to be a lot worse than it was. He'd hassle me, but at the same time, he'd joke with me, too. I think some other people looked at it in a different manner than I did. He didn't really bug me.
