Thread: RBK EDGE VS Game Worn

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, but when i went to hockeyfest this year i checked out the player game worn jerseys and noticed they were wayyy different than my rbk egdg "Authentic" Jersey.... So 1) Why aren't the authentic jerseys exactly the same as the game worn jerseys and 2) why even bother calling them authentic?

Where did you get yours? There's a lot of bootleg "authentic" jerseys out there that are nowhere near the proper quality. Generally, if the authentic jersey you're purchasing is not the same as the gameworns, it's not authentic. Since their introduction in 2007 they've changed some of the materials used in some of the jerseys as well as the way the jerseys are cut, but they're still generally the same thing.

Also, it's a very minute detail, but Reebok stopped using the RBK moniker about 3 years ago and are now called Reebok again. As of this season, the Reebok stripes logo underneath the rear neckline has been replaced with the Reebok name logo.

Many game worn jersey's are called "Edge 2.0". The pro's don't like the newer material so the have made combo's w/ older style mesh that breaths better.
Another reason IMO not to buy a Pro Style unless it was actually game worn. Too bad the Kings have turned the the collecting hobby into a high dollar sport.

i got mine from the LA Store.. the material is totally different. Game worn jerseys seem to be way thicker, and more breathable

yeah i realized they stopped using RBK, was just too lazy to type Reebok.. haha


So if i understand this correctly, Authentics sold at the store are Edge 1.0 and game worns for the most part are Edge 2.0? Does anyone know if they will be selling Edge 2.0 at the store this year?

The whole reason you buy Authentic Jerseys is so you can feel uppity and look down upon all the premier jersey owners as you walk by them, knowing that you're wearing what the players wear on ice. Not to mention it gives you the right to body check anyone you pass while wearing it since it's a known fact Authentic Jerseys give you more strength! Now that i know that what i'm wearing isn't exactly what the players are wearing on ice my powers have been stripped not to mention my checking account has taken an extra hit for no reason...

Edge 2.0 is not and will not be available retail.
