"It's not hard if you're playing in the paint. It's an easy save for me, but if you're wandering out and aggressive like he does, that's going to happen. He might make some saves that I won't, but in a case like that, we want to take advantage of a bounce like that and make sure we're in a good position to bury those"..."I have been pumping his tires ever since the series started. I haven't heard one nice thing he had to say about me. That's the way it is."
"I'm not sure how you explain that discrepancy, but we're going to be very hard-pressed to win hockey games if throughout the entire series, when the score is tight, they get 75 per cent more power plays than we do. That's the facts we are facing. I thought we played our best game of the series last night. I felt if it would have been a level playing field we would have won the game. We were lucky to get into overtime the way things occurred during the game. ...For us to come away with a loss is shocking to me. I'm very confident if we play the same way tomorrow evening, and it's a level playing field, that we'll win the game...I am being realistic about what I see. I am being factual. I'm not jumping up and down and screaming about diving. I am telling you about the facts. They are undeniable."
“I thought the Boston player used a can opener and drove him into the boards with enough force to break his back. That’s what I saw. I don’t have much more to say about that other than that observation.”
For those who don't know, the Canucks forced the owner of a car dealership to take down a "Go Canucks Go" sign during a time when the company slogan was "We Are All Canucks". Vancouver auto dealer told to ditch 'Go Canucks Go' sign
Dan Russell on CKNW is a Canucks fan and he was all over the organization for this. Not to mention some of the team's antics.
How about the actions of Burrows and Lapierre. Like it or not, those are actions of arrogance. Rome trying to knock Horton into the next century about three hours after he already passed the puck.
Here are a couple articles that were written during the playoffs that will expand:

I'd argue any person who constantly bitches that the referees are out to get them is dealing with a case of arrogance. You even had Don Cherry showing clips a couple weeks ago of Canucks players looking at the referee every time they got touched as if to say, "How dare they touch me?". And to top it all off, you have the rioting and I don't care what you say, a vast majority of those people WERE Canucks fans. Maybe you missed the "Breakfast with the GM" event last season where Dean Lombardi and Ron Hextall had a few choice words about the way the Canucks play. Or things I've heard personally from said GM and the captain of the team that I won't repeat here. It starts at the top of the Canucks organization and trickles down to the fans. They have a rep. Not a Canuck anymore but take a look at Shane O'Brien's reaction after an even fight with Simmonds during Game 5 in 2010. Honestly, do you think all the media, players and management of other teams, and fans just picked Vancouver to hate for no reason?

When you come on a Kings Fans Website you cannot possibly expect for Kings fans to agree with you re: remarks about the nucks. This is a KINGS site. Don't come on here and get all butt-hurt because we don't like the canucks.

Your avatar says it all.
Where is Drunken Crunker!!!?
Good old context. Luongo answered a question about that goal (that he should have said nothing about). I think it is obvious to anyone not seeking desperately for snippets of fact that what he said had nothing to do with being arrogant. Stupid, yes. You are taking a couple of things and propping them up with little bits of nothing.
Russell is a chronic whiner who is still upset he didn't get the PBP job with the Canucks. His living is based on complaining. Good work if you can get it.
Even Don Cherry slagging the Canucks? That's new. He takes clips from DIFFERENT games to show a couple of players questioning a non call. Players on EVERY team do that, but apparently it takes Don to bring it to your attention. You've been sucked in. BTW, just to help complete your list of "factual info".
I can't even bother copying and pasting anything else. The Kings dive. The Kings have had guys act like clowns after a fight. The difference is nobody has wasted resources putting together a video to "prove" it.Whether prompted by the Canucks' media relations department or speaking spontaneously, Vancouver defenseman Shane O'Brien sort of apologized for grandstanding after he fought the Kings' Wayne Simmonds on Friday near the end of the 7-2 playoff rout that put the Canucks in position to end the Kings' season Sunday at Staples Center.
O'Brien raised his index finger and gestured to the crowd, palms up, as if to request more applause for his pugilistic feats. Kings Coach Terry Murray criticized him and called him a clown. O'Brien's employers reportedly didn't like it much, either, and called him in for a chat before he spoke to the media in Vancouver on Saturday.

Feel free to think whatever you need to, especially if it makes you feel good. I'm sure the moment the media decides they like the Canucks again we'll be hearing how stupid said member of the media is. See, hating the Canucks is "unbiased, balanced fair reporting". Liking them is "homerism at its best." TBH, I'll take the hate, it's a lot more fun. What he said really doesn't matter, it's the fact that he'd even bother saying it. Perhaps despite all of his success so far he still requires the approval of fans, even after he has retired.
I find it impossible to listen to an ex nhler snicker at the mention of calling players "sisters". It makes him sound like a petty little suck. Or a moron in the classic fashion of a Mike Milbury. Or a combo.
You don't need to agree with me about anything. However, this is about Mark Recchi's comments, not people wearing "Free Bert" t shirts. I am sure you and others are more capable of providing a discussion about this than what most have shown. Unless having a discussion about hockey isn't the point. If that's it, please let me know. I am sure I can muster up the energy to say "the Kings suck" and "Kings fans don't know anything about hockey". Or maybe I'll just lump the whole state together as a bunch of fairweather cheerleaders looking for a chance to be discovered on TV. That sounds a bit stupid to me, but if that's the game please fill me in.
Maybe the first comment was a case of stupidity but then to come back the next day and bitch that the other guy doesn't say nice things about you? Let's be real.
Doesn't make him wrong.
Wrong. NO team does it as much as the Canucks. And if you knew anything about me you'd know that I disagree with Cherry about 90% of the time.
Yes, the Kings have players (ie. Brown) who dive and players who have acted like idiots. But this current version of the Canucks takes the cake by shear numbers.
So what I take with me after reading your post is that you believe there is no basis for the hatred of your team and that everyone is just a hater because the Canucks are so other worldly. What was that thing we said about arrogance and delusions again?
It's convenient that you chose now to agree with Cherry. It's a common event: people disagree with most of what he says until he says what they want to hear. They then almost always preface their agreement with Cherry with "I usually don't agree with Don, but....." Either way, his "story" was about why the Canucks are losing this year. Funny, some people seem to think it's why we WON so much last year.
There are lots of reasons to hate the Canucks. In fact, hating the Canucks or any team is part of what's fun about being a sports fan; it makes the games more worthwhile. I wish I could muster more hate for a few opponents we see often, but their suckage has really dampened it. However, this thread, like so many, goes from Mark Recchi to "Canucks fans are stupid heads." It's a theme. Nothing really even wrong with that if so many people here didn't exist on a holier than thou planet. Now let the "Will Vancouverites riot if BC doesn't win the Grey Cup" media debate begin. It's coming and surely the masses that fear thinking for themselves will be hugging on for dear life to those writers. Please media, provide us with facts!!!
I agreed with Cherry because I agreed with Cherry. It's not convenient. And since I haven't watched all their games this year I can't say whether or not I agree that that's the reason they're losing.
I don't get where you got the "Canucks fans are stupid heads" part from. I listed a bunch of facts and said that's why people hate the Canucks. Legitimate reasons. You've yet to tell me why you think people hate your team so much.
