Back in 2007 Kyle Turris was a lock for the #3 pick and was the name I heard most frequently from Kings fans in terms of the selection. In fact had Chicago not won the draft lottery leapfrogging from 5th to 1st, the Kings were likely to select Turris at 3rd. Or perhpas Lombardi would have been able to trade down the pick and still draft Hickey but we'll never know.
This I do know: I much rather have Mike Richards for the #2 center spot.
Looking at how much Turris is rummored to be asking for and his slow development, I think we have very good value with Richards and his reasonable cap hit. Funny how things work out.

Still, league sources told ESPN.com that Turris is looking for a three-year deal worth an average of slightly more than $4 million annually or a two-year deal worth slightly more than $3 million.

It's an interesting and some would say pivotal season for Turris and the Coyotes. It's far too early to label Turris a bust, although his development pales in comparison to his peers.
