The league should have vetoed the trade
Was the market really that soft?!
And Howson held out for this :duh:. Dubinsky is a good player, but Anisimov has shown some flashes of being a good 3rd liner,Erixon is yet to be determined and a late 1st round pick. This is why Columbus will always be the door mat of the NHL.
I don't think Howson particularly got fleeced. He got the roster players he wanted, but jeez...I was expecting more high impact players.
Hilarious that Tim Erixon refused to sign with the team who drafted him and only wanted to play for the Rangers, and now he is in Columbus.
If i was a BJs fan I would be so pissed!!! it amazes me that Howson still has a job. What would the kings equivalent be to that? Penner, stoll, Deslauriers, and a first?
edit: Maybe Williams instead of penner?
Good god Howson just needs to go to bed already. I'm seriously convinced he's trying to run his team into China.
Anisimov and Erixon are both players who have struggled to live up to the hype. Anisimov has major consistency issues, and Erixon has looked unimpressive to me at the NHL level, although he is still young and has good potential. Dubinsky makes some sense, it gives the BJ's a some much needed character and compete.
If the Rangers weren't willing to offer up Kreider, Stepan, McDonaugh, or even Del Zotto, Howson should have explored other options. Period. This looks like a real fleecing. I hope Columbus gets used to being in the cellar, they're gonna be there awhile.
Wonder if Howson will be around to select Seth Jones #1 overall next year. What an idiot?
That's almost insulting. Good lord. I thought they would at least get one good player out of it.
