blake is a triple gold member also.
edit: oh ya, pretty much what nasti said about the world champs, olympic gold and stanley cup.

Then forget about him. The Kings organization is going to do what they want to and the fans can boo all they want.
Who cares are we 12 years old? I am hoping if your past 25 years old people would move on with their lives and get past your hatred of Blake. He is a hockey player and I am sure he never did anything to you personally. Some people on this site act like they were on the team and he did something to them. People have to step back and realize this is only a game. If you live and die with the Kings, then check yourself in.
Blake was a top 5 d-man in his generation and top 3 during his prime. When he was traded, one of the analysts called him the Jaromir Jagr of defensemen. He also arguably possessed the best hipcheck the game has ever seen.
Did I ever use the word hate? No. I simply do not see the need to honor him for his service in a Kings' uniform. The team won nothing when he was playing here. He is not revered by the fans. What is the point of honoring him?
You miss the point of my post completely. The entire purpose for the Kings orgnanization to exist is to entertain the fans. The fans will not be entertained by a Blake retirement ceremony. I would rather he just say thank you for the millions of dollars he made during his career and be on his way.
If you have no passion for being a fan of the Kings, then find another team.
Hockey's original bad boy. The "Cowboy" Howie Young
Why? Because he was the captain of the team at a time when there was little or no success. When he left the first time the contrast between Blake and Deadmarsh in the "caring" department was readily apparent. When he came back the second time there was next to zero on-ice leadership again.
There you have it.

Congrats Blake on a great career!
So you're going to blame him for having Vladamir Tsyplakov as a top 6 forward and Stephane Fiset as the number 1? And don't fool yourself into thinking Blake's departure was the reason the Kings started winning the rest of the season. Felix Potvin arriving that same week had more to do with that.
I'd say letting a kid named Jack Johnson live at your house with your wife and kids shows plenty of care.
I don't know how much Johnson was actually there and neither do you, and frankly I don't care.
I am over Blake, but I sure as hell don't want to be reminded of him every time I go to a game and look at the retired numbers on the wall. From a fan's perspective I don't think that is asking too much. However, I'm sure the village idiot Leiweke, and the much too nice Luc will try to force it down our collective throats or will at least keep taking our pulse to see how the fans feel about it.
