Seems like burke did this a few weeks too late. I guess it gives carlyle time to get acclimated with the players for next year.
I've never been a fan of the way Burke has "built" the Leafs. It's been how many years and they're still in the same position and not much in the pipeline? He gets too much credit for the Ducks cup win too. That was Bryan Murray sprinkled with a couple lucky signings by Burke.
Agreed. Leaf nation was in a clamor to get Burke because of his success in Anaheim, not realizing that he inherited quite a lot when he took over as well as lucked out that Neidermayer wanted to play with his brother and Selanne had a soft spot in his heart for the Ducks.
