this doesnt belong in home ice. He's not a King, he never really was. Maybe his WeatherBug is still set to Los Angeles...
You OK, Ryan?
Did someone die?
No?
Oh, you're crying because you're leaving Edmonton because they wouldn't pay you $300K more?
You effin' crybaby bitch.
Go eff yourself.
(BTW, his agent during that time...Don Meehan)

I know that LA isn't for everyone but my completely biased opinion is that you get the best of both worlds being a pro athlete here. You get a pretty hardcore fan-base that fills up arenas/stadiums (with the exception of the quacks) but you don't have to worry about being pestered by fans/media every second you're out of the house. You'd think with how quiet/terrible Smyth is with the media he'd appreciate that. Have fun in Siberia and being out of the playoffs, bud!
Here's the truth. Ryan Smyth was a skilled player. Edmonton had his best years. By the time he got here he was playing for a check. He didnt give a crap about the fans here, but he occasionally said the right things when acosted for an interview and people around here ate it up like he was all class all the time. Whatever.
If he'd rather live in a place that is -30 around Halloween and he gets harangued like a rock star everytime he leaves the house then good on him. Being in the Entertainment capital of the world where you actually have to DO something other than cry to get attention wasnt enough for him. So be it. Enjoy that Stanley Cup run, Ryan. Cant Wait to see the Oil in the playoffs!
PS: This **** makes me love my avatar even more. I was about to change it... now... not so much.
Every player on a Canadian team is going to say that. What do you expect him to say on live tv? Man that was the worst trade I could have asked for.
He's not the first player that asked for a first class ticket out of here and he won't be the last. If we dwell on that......
And as far as having the best and most loyal fan base....... I'll be quoting you when you're asking for such and such player to get traded. You wear your loyalty on your sleeve.
