hmmmmmm, one game of Schenn having a 3 point night compared to Richards playoff experience & points? Tough decision. Kings got the the better player in the deal. GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!

Can we talk about what Moulson and Purcell are doing too? Maybe Jason Blake? Cammy?

Deals done..I liked Simmer...still do...but its all about Kings and winning in the playoffs...Richards is a PROVEN player at all levels and all situations...I am glad we have him and glad we got Carter instead of Nash...

Now lets go and win tomorrow and bring home a 2-0 series to LA.....

Will the Briggs be there this year? They have been placed in our section last 2 years....

Schenn has a pretty nasty streak too. Did you see him mixing it up with the Penguins? I thought he was pretty much the key to the entire game. That being said, I will still do that trade over again. Richards is a known quantity in the playoffs and he just has so much desire. Having Simmonds included in it hurts, but I think I would still do it over again. Man, if we can grab Parise this offseason I will really like the way our team is shaping up next year!

Is Schenn the player the Kings need right now?
    No

Is Simmonds the player the Kings need right now?
Yes... but not as bad as Richards

And now the Kings have Richards and Carter. Do any of you think that Simmonds and Schenn would be able to play together the way Richards and Carter played together last night? On the PK (in the 2nd I think) they charged down the ice with the puck and killed a few precious seconds and backed off the Canucks. They just knew where other guy was going and played off of it. Also, Carter shoots from everywhere except the grassy knoll. He doesn’t give a crap. He shoots and does it quick and on target. He is the sparkplug for the 2nd line. Neither Simmonds nor Schenn would have filled the void on the 2nd line. Simmonds may have been able to play there, but he wouldn’t have been as successful as he is in Philly.

I’m extremely happy with King-Richards-Carter as the second line, and I don’t regret for one second the trades that brought Richards and Carter here.
The Kings didn't trade Schenn + Simmonds for Carter + Richards, as you know.

The trades are over, and we won game 1 vs. the Nucks.

    I am happy.

Will we look back in a couple years and DEEPLY regret the trades?...probably.

But for now, it feels great to have some hope that we could be in for some fun this season.

We will have plenty of time for many years to look back and beat up the GM, but its not time for that now. Good for Schenn and the Kings East for beating the Pens....Better for Philly West beating the Nucks!

this is no time for sour grapes, lets live in the moment!

    The time is now BITCHEZ!

I know that the Kings did not trade Simmonds and Schenn to get Carter and Richards. I commented that Richards was acquired from the trade, and THEN Carter was acquired.
If its something I know, and you know, and I didn't say, why are you trying to correct me?

I've said this over and over again for years. It is NOT RELEVANT what other players do with their new team after they've left the Kings. You can ONLY judge the trade by what the player you got in return.

Schenn and Simmonds could have had career ending knee injuries if they had stayed for all we know. It's PURE speculation and meaningless.

When Richards is 35 and Schenn is a star in the league when he is 28 we will regret it but so what? If Richards leads the Kings to a Cup who the hell cares? Think of this trade like the Iginla for Neiwendyke (sp?) trade between Calgary and Dallas 15 years ago. VERY VERY similar.

The trade should be judged on what Richards does for the Kings (yay or nay) NOT what Simmonds and Schenn do.
