Thread: Scott Howson Jobwatch Thread (Howson has been fired. FINALLY)

He didn't get Nash dealt, then threw him under the bus during his press conference. After poking around a bit, not only are the fans after the entire management structure's heads over there, I remember this tidbit:

My thought process is that Howson is a lame duck, and his days are numbered.

Patrick's job is likely to come in and assess what's there, and what needs to go. Howson, and Priest their president for that matter, are likely to go at some point, Patrick takes the interim job, then brings in another GM after a careful search process. The can operate as the GM through the draft/free agency period.

Its still run like the good old boys network from years past, which really doesn't work in the NHL anymore.

After all those years of drafting early, they should not be one of a handful of teams that are out of the playoff hunt this early.

Current VP of Hockey Ops for the Blues, but I think he's tied more to Armstrong than JD.

I don't think JD in an executive position would fit with Brian Burke. He's more of a guy that has to work for a single owner or family, not someone that works down the food chain a bit.

Hextall could be a consideration, but I think Hexy doesn't see that as an improvement to his current position. Neil Smith could be possible, and maybe Larry Pleau.

What about Hextall? I hope it's Jarmo Kekäläinen, would like to see first Euro GM and the guy deserves it too.

Heh if you watch Blue Jackets behind the scenes video I think you can already tell Howson was done even back then, no authority, Davidson was basically running everything and he just came in.
