I think that if they are willing to frontload the contract and make it so that later on the hit is less I would do this July 1st 12:00.01 a.m. 164 pts (ave) for 10 mil a season - absolutely.

Vinny Lecavalier makes 3/4 that per season and so to even it out he would have to score approx 125 pts. Do you think adding Moen will give you that other 40 pts - Maybe (not).

This is a good option for us if it comes to pass

They're in the prime of their careers... $5.25 sounds pretty damn good to me. Considering Some high end players are going for 8 or 9 mil per season. We'd get two pretty decent two way players? Done.

Glad there are so many open to this.

I thought they'd be asking for bigger cap hits, which kept them out of my list of possibilities. 5.25 is totally manageable.

I think it's cool that the Swedes almost to a man want to return to play in the SEL. If you know the history of teams like MoDo, it makes a lot of sense that they want to give back at the end of their careers.

Think about what overrated piles of crap like Brian Campbell, and Phaneuff get.

    Sign them and the Kings retain;

For that cheap, i wouldnt mind the twins wearing purple and black.

It also still leaves up room to sign Gaborik :D

Sure, that's a long ass contract, but 5.25 for these two? Do it. Now.

These two aren't overrated, like so many claim.

Their cap hits are NOT bad considering their productivity. The cap WILL RISE AGAIN, their deals are not nearly as bad as other players. it's the length of the deal that's concerning. someone is going to **** over a team with one of these handshake deals that they'll retire or go back to sweden or whatever, I don't want the Kings to be left holding the bag. Maybe if there were some option in the 6th year for the Kings to exercise to terminate the deal or some ****, but I think the CBA doesn't allow for that.
The contract length is definitely an issue, but assuming that they choose to "retire" at 35 and head over to Sweden at that time, how big a risk would it be for an NHL team to take? The combined cap hit of $10.5 is VERY reasonable for two PPG players presumably in the prime of their careers. I mean, combined, they're only $2.75 greater than VLC, by himself.

A few key items to note about them:
    - consistency (both scored between 70-85 pts last 4 yrs)
    - no history of injury (both player 80+ games last 4 yrs)
    - both Left-handed shots, which fill key areas of need

The thought of them on a line w/Brown or a young Moller is scary.

Of course, its all moot because you KNOW Burkie's gonna pony up for them, especially when his dream of trading for Tavares fails to materialize.

How about negotiating here? Offer them the same dollars, but 10 years each. I can't see them being productive after 38 years of age.

the asking price is what i was surprised about as well. Thought for sure they'd be asking for something in the higher $6-7 million. That's very reasonable for what they can do, and they'r still young. Make the contract top heavy and I think it'll be a great addition.
