With that said, as a hockey fans I respect the hell out Selanne. A true, well-oiled scoring machine even into his 40's. I know if I felt that I could still go I'd play into my 40's also.

I agree with this for the most part, OTOH since he won't go anywhere else he really isn't impeding a "rebuild".

He didn't the last time he signed a contract either.

It's my favorite thing about Selanne. The only time he dragged out a contract issue was when it cost the Ducks a serious chance at repeating as Cup winners.
