I don't think for one second that Vlassic had a concussion. New rules require a team to report a concussion to the NHL. Vlassic wouldn't say what his injury was and there is no reason not to at that point other than McLellan was full of **** in the post game press conference after Vlassic was injured.

Everyone (Wilson included) keeps saying there are going to be changes, no more status quo. But what do you do? They have such a talented team. "Trade Thornton" sounds easy enough, but where do you replace that production, if only in the regular season?
I wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to "fix" things over there. Weird situation.
SJ and St. Louis both need a shakeup... maybe a Thornton for Backes swap? Would Thornton agree to such a thing? The two guys I'd be most likely to trade, Thornton and Marleau, are the two with NTCs.

They talk about Boyle leaving and trading Niemi.. Stalock as the starter and your most experienced blue liner gone doesn't necessarily sound like a step in the right direction.. NO complaints from me though. They can keep tanking in the playoffs for all I care. Good luck Mr. Wilson.

I read on the HF Sharts forum some fan wanting Torts as their coach. Please, God. Make this happen.

Boyle, Havlat won't return to Sharks; Burns back to blue line
Nothing like taking a solid defensemen, jumping him up to winger where he then arguably becomes your most or second most productive forward, and then shifting him back on defense, and calling it progress.

I love that moving him back to the blue line = he is their PK Subban or Drew Doughty now. Didn't know those just grew on trees.

I never thought of him as having the highest D man IQ out there, and now he'll have missed out on 2-3 years of development? This sounds like bad planning on replenishing the blue line. Hertl doesn't give them this much luxury.
