at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Are we watching the same play there? He was moving up the left wing boards as an option for Doty to pass to and enter the attack zone, Penner then moved it up to a charging Stoll, whom then had the puck knocked away by the Blues defenseman into the neutral zone, which was knocked down by Scuderi towards Penner, Penner was circling back to the neutral zone following the play (as he should be), and then carried it back into the zone and fired the clapper. Show me where the "too lazy to join the attack was" on this one.

Penner was scratched for Silfverberg, and Shocker was scratched for Electro.

How great would it be to get a jersey with "Doty" instead of Doughty? Brad would be proud.

And Pens wasn't so much lazy as a huge pile of pancakes requiring a lot of overcoming lack of inertia.

Also, as noted previously, he put us in the Final where we won the Cup so he will be forever intertwined with the Kings history.

Down 3-0 to Colorado, hopefully the whole team has already burned out.
