As to the contract: How much is Pitts on the hook (cap wise) if he goes down permanently and has to retire?

Depends on the new cba but under the current one none, they can also place him under LTIR for lots of cap space if he decides to sit out the regular season, not sure how it would work for playoffs if they brought him back then and bloated over the cap?

I really hope this deal works out in all honesty. Crosby is good for the game. That being said though I just don't know what his future is going to look like consider the guy may be a single hit away from being forced to retire. It really puts the Pens in a rough place.
