Leino actually played with my favourite finnish club and he was sick with his moves. It is not so competitive league but still, I was surprised that it took so long to show his skills in NHL level. He is kind of soft though comparing his size.

Please site where I said he could be had for scrub prospects and mid picks? Thanks.
I just said that your particular "reality starting point" was a bit far fetched. 40-goal-scorers-growing-on-trees or not, the injury concerns are very real, as is the upcoming UFA status. You, like many Philly fans, are overvaluing him. He's a great player, don't get me wrong, but Quick+Simmonds for one year of Gagne is not realistic.
You all do realize that Gagne's cap hit is 5.25 million! We could easily sign Frolov for that, perhaps even for less than that, and i'd take him any day over the glass skull of Gagne. It is a shame, but he is one more hit away from calling it a career. If we are talking to Philly and its not about Carter, I think we are totally barking up the wrong tree. Sign Fro, sign Kovy, and trade Stoll/Williams, Teubert, and a mid to low round pick for Ehrhoff, and we are all set!
I've always been a big fan of Simon Gagne but there's been some excellent points made here: he's got a $5.25 million cap hit and the team that just asked him to waive his no trade clause wants to have salary cap space to address roster concerns, plus, he's injury-prone and one year away from unrestricted free agency. I'd love to have him on the Kings with or without Kovalchuk but re-signing Frolov (hopefully) for around $4 million per and trading Jarret Stoll and/or Justin Williams would seem like worthwhile pursuits as well.
I wouldn't give up much of anything for Gagne unless he was packaged with a quality defenseman. If we're dealing for Gagne straight up, I'd offer a low-level prospect or a future draft pick (not in the top 2 rounds). I wouldn't even give up Teubert for him right now. DL and the Kings have leverage; let's use it.
Realm = NHL. It's called the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Gagne the "40 goal scoring team player" is gone! He's a ghost. His contract is up next year and Philly can't pay it. Don't feel sad there is dozens of players better than SG than have met the same fate (google: Gonchar). His market value is an autographed picture of Bailey and a clean bag of pucks. No reflection on his skill level or whatever "intangibles" you want to dig up it's just economic reality.
