Prince George: You know, Blackadder, for me socks are like sex. Lots of it about and I never seem to get any.
Minnesota takes on a less expensive contract with less term, but gets a higher cap hit, bigger name player and marginally better productive player, at least last season.
The most confusing thing for me is that a Minnesota team that is rebuilding would take on that cap number for a player who isn't a character guy. Why put your kids around him and send the message that this is what your team is about?
Do remember when asked about trading for Heately DL made a bid point about not adding a distraction/cancer to our locker room. Guess San Jose agreed after a couple of years that they made a mistake.
for pure talent, minnesota wins this trade,
and now, i see the kings and sharks nearly even, with i slight edge to the sharks,
I think it gives us a little bit of an edge now. Be curious to see two amazing pass first players on the same line. marleau-thorton-havlat. Marleau should have a good year.
Minnesota takes on less cash and term. Gets name player and probably a bit more scoring. Bad move for the young kids to have them around him though. Don't understand why a rebuilding team trades for Heater.
I like what San Jose did here.
