Maybe it was a bit unfair of me to toss the entire base under the bus, so I apologize, but the nastiest ones I've noticed do pull the race card on many occasions, which, as someone who is partially Native American, does hit home with me. I was at Game 3 vs. Boston in 2010 NBA Finals and I was shocked by some of the slurs coming out people's mouths like it was common talk. Things to the degree of, "knock that (slur) out of the ****ing air next time" when Derek Fisher drove to the lane for a runner. I was a blown away.

Heard some of the same, but to a lighter degree, at a Red Sox game also. I've heard a few similar stories about some of the loose language from friends who have traveled over to Boston as well. Considering Boston's past reputation with athletes like O'Ree and Russell dealing with racism, you could see how I wouldn't have the greatest perception of the city based on what I saw.

In fairness again, yes, this could be the minority, so that's my bad, and no way wanted to blanket you or the good Bruins fans in there who are respectful to others. Certain things just hit home with me, so I do tend to have plenty to say about the fans ( of any city) who pull the race card.

I definitely agree that you can't lump in the rest of the fan base just because a few idiots posted racist remarks. Sucks we still have these kinds of racist remarks in this day and age, but it doesn't surprise me. Obviously these people aren't too bright, posting on Twitter...one of the biggest websites on the internet, with their real names/pictures so everyone can see who they are.

wow tickets to game 3 in the finals? lucky man. good stuff and i'm sorry you were subjected to that. i'm 1/2 latino, was born in mexico actually and i saw and heard a lot of crap in the 80's particularly, so i don't take it lightly. there is still a sprinkling of these people around sadly, but am glad to say things have gotten better.

anyhow, anybody with a classic scene from swingers in their sig can't be too bad. go kings.

Two things that this thread taught me.

    Racism sucks.

    And so does basketball.

Boston acts like the confederacy is still intact? Waaaaaa?

And you can definitely argue that racism persists in America. And that the civil war and reconstruction are blights that we, as a national community, have yet to fully overcome. But you are undermining your own objective by asserting ridiculous claims about entire cities while invoking a specious interpretation of history.

it would be even better if we just took the power away from that word, and the people who use it.

Screwed up my karma comment to you lol:

I meant to say anyone who has to have a Bergeron comment has to be good guy and it's no surprise that he has a lot of class as well.

Either way. I'm glad we could come to an understanding. It's always nice have great fans from other boards talk here.
