I'd take a dozen crosschecks to the back of the shoulder pad before I'd take one heavy hack, especially with a goalie stick.

And obviously you've never been slashed in the crotch if you think it's all sunshine and lollipops.

Also, agreed. I'm just going to say, for argument's sake, that it all hurts: sticks and pucks to cups and shoulder's and ankles, it all hurts. This means that what Giguere did to Ott and what Ott did to Niedermayer are both dangerous and somewhat comparable. (They're also part of hockey, no doubt a part of what makes the game so action-packed and engaging, which we love.) So why point only point out Giguere's wrongdoing when Ott also engaged himself in possible inury-causing actions? Purple colored glasses sounds about right to me.

I really would like to know what major injury you people think Scott could have possibly got from this incident.

Ott is trying to aggravate. That ain't what Giggy was doing.

Then perhaps next time you're in the position to rough up the opposing team's captain with nobody but the opposing team's goalie watching from only 3 feet away, you'll think twice.

I'm not a hack when i play, but seeing some *** clown won't deter me any more than seeing what Todd Bertuzzi did to Moore stopped me from playing...

No, but I play enough to know what's part of the game, and what's over the line. I believe what Ott did wasn't over the line. What Giggy did was.

You can't be serious. Ott made the choice to keep crosschecking AFTER the buzzer sounded - WTF did he think was going to happen? Should Giggy have tapped him on the shoulder and said "excuse me Mr. Ott, but could you please not do that?" Hell no, 90% of the goalies in the league would've done exactly what Giggy did and once again - the only reason people around here are upset by it is because he's a Duck.
