I heard some Canadian folk on the radio wondering why Philadelphia didn't pick up Vokoun rather than blow up their team.

Wasn't Vokoun highly coveted not so long ago? I don't pay much attention to the Panthers....

Great pickup for the Caps! Vokoun is a very underrated workhorse goalie. I guess that happens when you play for southern teams like Nashville and Florida. Back in the Checkmanek/Huet/Labs/Garon days I would have creamed my shorts if the Kings got Vokoun.

Man I was hoping that the Kings would shock everyone and sign him. I know(stop throwing things) but I think that the Kings could really use a veteran in net. Not going to get me on a lot of Xmas card lists...sorry.

How silly does Philly look now? They could have gotten Vokoun and not had to bust a Chicago-roster-topsoil-turnover to do so.

Because they're constantly chasing their tail...that's what they do.

1.5 for a proven regular season winner? What a steal. Vokoun is a seroius goalie who would have won plenty of cups on say Det if he had the chance. What does say for us getting any kind of value for Bernier or Quick? Sheesh. Since when did the league starting shyting on the value of goaltending?
