22 is a pain wherever he goes..
2 sounds about right. Douche move but 2 is about right...
While it may make it more sensitive, it certainly does not matter. It doesn't make Tootoo any worse because of who it was. It is REALLY obvious that many fans have suckled at the teet of the Sabres announcers and bought into all the garbage they spewed.
It is definitely a penalty, but Shanahan is making up for his failure in the Lucic hit. It's too bad it was Tootoo, he is such an easy target to make a point of. This would have been way more interesting if it was Lucic again. "Duhhhhh, I didn't mean it Brendan. You can ask Gregory or Colin, they'll vouch for me.".
Look, all I'm gonna say that if Kesler missed some games because of a concussion and in his first game back was at the receiving end of a reckless hit by an opponent, I have a hard time buying that you'd be fine and dandy with it. Anyway...
And that's for a reason...because he has a history of these types of reckless plays. Again, if a guy like Matt Cooke boards one of the Sedin twins, are you gonna gauge the hit in a vacuum or is Cooke's history of reckless play gonna figure into it?
Listen if you're saying Shanahan whiffed on the Lucic hit, I completely agree.
Not sure what being fine and dandy has to do with anything. Simply put, it should not matter when deciding the punishment.
Tootoo has been suspended 1 time in his 8 year career, 4 years ago. That wasn't my point though, he is a 3/4 line guy and a suspension is easily doled out. Given Lucic got nothing for "not meaning to hit Miller" I do not understand how Tootoo then gets nailed. Shanahan is just a different pile of the same old stuff.

Should be fun to see what Porter gets for his knee on Booth. Marginal player, cheap shot, 4-6 week injury = nothing or 5 games. I don't particularly care, it doesn't matter what he gets.
