So let me get this straight. Calgary starts the game with their 4th line out there. That means Vancouver has to counter with theirs? Even if Vancouver starts with their 1st line, it doesn't mean Calgary's 4th line will automatically pound the Sedins right away after the puck drop. And if they did, they could just turtle and enjoy their 5 on 3, 7 minute PP while the Flames get game misconducts and possibly suspensions.
While I personally still want to see a line brawl in person, I think this was avoidable.

Sestito calling anyone an idiot is pretty rich.

Haha. We just talked about that at Monday's game.

This bs has to stop. Tortorella is an idiot. Malarchuck isn't much better. You guys are coaches, not teenagers.

Torts sure doesn't act like a 55 year old...LOL

Bob McKenzie says Torts faces a lengthy suspension for his wander down the hallway at intermission. Caps GM George McPhee got a month suspension years ago after punching a Hawks coach at a preseason game.
Imagine the inferiority complex from Vancouver that will come out if Torts gets that long of a suspension and he didn't connect with a punch.

My question is, would Westgarth have jumped Sedin? Why else would Westy be taking the opening face-off?
I saw Tort's post game interview, he said he couldn't risk getting his players hurt so he sent out the goons because he knew the "guy on the other side" (Hartley). Was he right?

Seriously, Torts is a nut case, but considering Bob Hartley's past I can't believe everyone is giving him a free pass here. Westgarth attacks Bieksa off the drop, he refuses the invitation. Everyone else does as expected. I absolutely hate the Canucks organization from top to bottom, but
I don't really think anyone should expect Tortorella to due anything different as far as match ups here. If he puts his first line out to get mugged he is an idiot. If he puts his goons out, well we all know how that went. Sesitito's quotes are just golden here:
“They started their goon squad over there,” said Sestito, who leads the NHL with 167 penalty minutes in 47 games. “I just don’t think we’re going to be backing down from guys.” and then the best one:
“Torts came in and told us that they’re starting those idiots over there so we’re going to match that and go with it,” said Canucks tough guy Tom Sestito.
If the NHL wants to get rid of this crap, give both coaches the gate for a few, and then a nice hefty fine.

I ****ing love old-school hockey brawls.
The best part was when Garrison and Butler were just chilling next to each other, then when they saw they were the only ones not fighting they were like "*sigh* Okay, we'd better go too so we aren't the only ones not scrapping." Classic.

Malarchuk looked pretty pissed off

Well, everyone sees the games a little differently, but frankly, I find this stuff vastly entertaining and don't want to see it leave the game. Don't get me wrong, I love the skill of the game -- always have. But I also have a soft spot in my heart for the rough stuff.
