To those wondering, there is video that seemingly confirms this. I was never a big fan of Simmer, but this cements him as one of my least favorite players in the NHL. Good thing we traded him.
I don't agree with what Simmonds did, but seriously.. Avery can seem to dish it out, but when the tables are turned, he can't take it?

Does everyone want them to be proper when pissed off about something that happened on the ice. Bunch of crybabies saying that Simmonds is no longer a favorite player of theirs?? Really?? I think it ridiculous that people take to heart what is said inside the glass during the game play.......if it was directed towards a fan i can understand but its to an opponent and they are always gonna say whatever they want to say to get under the skin and cause them to take a penalty or get off their game......i mean come on already, this is getting stoopid.

Simmonds calling Sean Avery a f****t was every bit as intentional as the fan who threw the banana, and being that THAT particular incident happened so recently, you'd think Wayne would use a little bit better judgement. this wasn't a case of s*** said in the heat of the action in a man's game blah blah blah.
c**t, pussy, bitch, etc. etc. there are dozens of insults that could have been hurled Sean's way, and the one Simmonds chose was clearly deliberate given Avery's lifestyle.
i mean, hell, i really like Simmonds and am not particularly a big fan of Sean's. i'm just calling a club a club here.

C'mon. These are professional athletes in the heat of a game...I highly doubt Simmonds actually offended anybody tonight except for Avery, which is perfectly okay since they are opponents competing against one another. I wish I could take a tally of how many times a game that word is said. I bet some of you people would be astounded.
