It will come as no surprise to many of you that I am a "hater".

I'm rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins out of "love" and "hate".

I loved Dan Bylsma when he was with the Kings and even when he was with the Ducks. I have an autographed game used stick (personalized even) from the Ducks Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 2003 and everything I know about Bylsma makes me think he's the kind of guy who should be rewarded in life.

    On the flip side....

    **** Hossa.

I would love nothing more than to see a Penguins/Red Wings rematch only to see Hossa lose AGAIN only this time to the team he left in search of a better chance at a Cup.

    Go Penguins.

If we got a Penguins/ Red Wings repeat, and the Pens lost. I would have to question if the season even existed or if I just thought it did.

    Just like almost every season.

By process of elimination, I'll go with the Hurricanes.

The Pens bore me. I don't know why. There's no denying the talent on the roster, obviously, but I just can't get behind them. If they get into the final vs Detroit, though, I'd root for them.

I don't hate Detroit nearly as much as everyone else, but enough already. You knocked out the Ducks, and I am grateful for that, but do you all really need your names on the cup again?

Chicago bothers me (not only because they eliminated the Canucks). I want them to exit in the next round, have an extremely bitter team meeting afterwards and every player demands a trade. I don't want the Kings to face this team in the next few years, they scare me. And yeah, they (Byfuglien) knocked out Vancouver (Luongo).

So go 'Canes, I guess. But let's summarize real quick:

-I wanted the Kings, they didn't make the cut.

-Moved on to Vancouver, looked good but fell short.

-Wanted Washington and that Game 7 didn't go to well.

    Sorry 'canes!

Blackhawks. Why? Let them get "their" Cup now so that the urgency is not as great for them when our window opens up.

I know that the same logic applies to Pittsburgh, but I know that I won't be able to bring myself to root for them against a much more likeable Carolina. If they make it into the finals against the Wings, we'll see.

i like pittsburgh because of dan bylsma.

i like the canes because they're the surprise of the post season.

but i voted the hawks because with all that talented youth, i like them best.

I've been a closet Hawks and Dr. Naysay fan for a few years now.

    Go Chicago!

I'm not sure how that ex-WNBA player made the team. :(

    nice.

i'll "root" for the Hawks, simply because i think they're great, but i gotta kind of go with the Pens here as well.

the thing i find interesting about the notion of Detroit repeating though (and even a Detroit V Penguins rematch) is the fact that it'd mean the dynasty idea is still very alive and well and VERY viable within the controlled environment of the salary cap, and that there is no "I" in goaltender... that he doesn't have to be elite to win it all.
