Don Cherry is right. The ratings went up because peeps like me stayed up all night to watch games involving Canada.
We stayed up just to watch Canada lose! :D

What I find funny about this year is that when the US took gold on Carlson's OT winner a few years ago, Cherry talked so much crap saying how Canada had more guys playing in the NHL and they were missing a bunch of players. He was basically taking credit away from the Americans. While he had a point about some players missing, I found it to be in poor taste.
What was the excuse this year? No NHL meant they had a full squad.
He also still can't give credit to what US hockey has done with its development program which has become very good and the results are proving it.

Dumb Cherry is going to have to cry himself to sleep when he finds out the first overall pick in the 2013 draft is an American.
